Zillar Barta Desk,New Delhi: Leaders of the INDIA bloc held a joint press briefing, raising concerns over the functioning of the Election Commission of India and calling for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
During the briefing, opposition leaders reiterated their concerns regarding the electoral process and demanded greater transparency and accountability from the poll panel. They alleged that several issues related to the conduct of elections required clarification from the Election Commission.
The leaders said that their demand for the CEC’s resignation was linked to their broader concerns about the functioning of the constitutional body. They also stressed the need for institutions overseeing the electoral process to maintain public confidence and ensure transparency.
The INDIA bloc leaders said they would continue to raise the issue collectively and seek answers from the Election Commission on matters they have questioned. The Election Commission’s response to the allegations and demands will be closely watched.
