Zillar Barta Desk : President Droupadi Murmu is attending the valedictory session of the two-day International Conference on “The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics” in New Delhi on September 20, 2026. The conference is being organised by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) at Vigyan Bhawan.
The conference has brought together environmental experts, members of the judiciary, senior government officials and judicial representatives from 17 countries to discuss emerging challenges related to climate change, environmental governance and environmental justice.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the conference on September 19. The discussions are focusing on issues including climate justice, environmental law and governance, biodiversity, sustainable energy, ecosystem protection and international cooperation.
The valedictory session is being attended by President Murmu along with Union Minister Manohar Lal, Supreme Court Justice B.V. Nagarathna, NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta. The conference aims to promote greater institutional cooperation and develop approaches to address present and future environmental and climate challenges.
The event provides an international platform for sharing judicial approaches, scientific knowledge and environmental governance practices, with discussions aimed at strengthening environmental protection and climate resilience.
