Zillar Barta Desk,Dubai : Sri Lanka secured their place in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final after edging past Pakistan by four wickets in a tense second semi-final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Batting first after being asked to make a competitive total, Pakistan posted 130/5 in 20 overs. Captain Fatima Sana led from the front with a fighting unbeaten 47, keeping Pakistan in the contest after the team suffered early setbacks.
Sri Lanka also faced pressure during their chase, losing two early wickets. However, Harshitha Samarawickrama and Kavisha Dilhari steadied the innings with a crucial partnership. Harshitha scored 36, while Dilhari contributed 33, putting Sri Lanka back in control.
Sri Lanka eventually reached 131/6 in 18.5 overs, completing a four-wicket victory and booking their place in the title clash. Despite Fatima Sana’s impressive all-round performance, including four wickets, Pakistan could not defend their total.
Sri Lanka will now face India in the final on September 13 in Dubai. India had earlier defeated Bangladesh by 40 runs in the first semi-final to secure their place in the championship match.
The final will bring together two unbeaten sides, setting up a highly anticipated battle for the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 title.
