Zillar Barta Desk,Mumbai : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis felicitated veteran actress Helen during the 62nd Maharashtra State Film Awards ceremony held in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The prestigious awards ceremony, organised by the Maharashtra government's Department of Cultural Affairs, celebrated the outstanding contributions of personalities from the Marathi and Hindi film industries. The event was held at Ravindra Natya Mandir in Prabhadevi.

One of the highlights of the evening was veteran actress Helen accepting the Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of legendary screenwriter Salim Khan. The honour recognises Khan's long-standing contribution to Indian cinema.

The ceremony also saw renowned music composer Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar receiving the prestigious Chitrapati V. Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award. Actor-director Prasad Oak was honoured with the Chitrapati V. Shantaram Special Contribution Award.

The Maharashtra State Film Awards are among the state's prominent honours for contributions to cinema. The 2026 ceremony brought together several leading personalities from both Marathi and Hindi cinema, highlighting Maharashtra's rich cinematic heritage.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was the chief dignitary for the award presentation, with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar and other senior leaders and cultural officials also attending the event.

The ceremony served as a tribute to generations of artists, writers, musicians, directors and technicians whose work has contributed to the growth and recognition of Indian cinema.
