Zillar Barta Desk, Belgian : Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat in New Delhi, laying a wreath at the memorial during his official visit to India. De Wever is visiting India from September 2 to 4, 2026, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The visit marks an important step in strengthening India-Belgium relations, with discussions covering bilateral cooperation, trade and investment, defence and security, technology, renewable energy, connectivity and people-to-people ties. De Wever is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and participate in business engagements linked to the India-EU Free Trade Agreement.
His visit to Rajghat reflects the diplomatic significance attached to India’s national heritage and Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy of peace and non-violence.
